V International Rescue Dog Symposium

The V International Rescue Dog Symposium took place in Stockholm, Sweden. During this symposium, the International Rescue Dog Organisation, IRO, was founded.

I International Rescue Dog Symposium

The I International Rescue Dog Symposium was organised by T.H.W. in Mannheim, Germany. Four members of the G.P.S.E. attended the three-day symposium on October 23rd-25th, where the need of unifying criteria for rescue dog work started being discussed.
We lost 4 members of the Basque Rescue Dog Group, G.P.S.E.

During the search of a missing boy near the “Ordiales Panoramic View” (Picos de Europa mountain range, Asturias) a helicopter belonging to the Basque Autonomous Police crashed. The seven occupants of the helicopter lost their lives: the pilot, the co-pilot, the Coordinator for Civil Defence of the Principality of Asturias and 4 members of the G.P.S.E. with their respective rescue dogs.
